Day 12 - Leaf

No books were intentionally harmed in the making of this shot. It was book roadkill - the page had already separated from it's siblings :)

Bonus point if you can guess the book, the author or the series.

  1. Cool idea, and nice and simple - even if you had to trash a book (from the 'Dragonriders of Pern' series?) :-)

  2. Well, I didn't know but I googled both Shankolin and the Aivas and found it was the dragonriders of pern. Normally I wouldn't say the answer, but since Craig already knew, I guess it does no harm. Eury

  3. Very clever! I was trying to figure out what book this was (as if)... but am intrigued by "abominable", "dominated", "destroying", etc. I don't think it's 50 Shades of Grey though..... ;)

  4. I nearly got irate that you had defiled a book, but I am glad to read that you hadn't. A lovely way to depict the theme and I like the shadows and shapes to give such great texture.

  5. Great idea ... Google books would appear to have the answer https://books.google.com.au/books?id=p9pSkqWrdQIC&pg=PA29&lpg=PA29&dq=having+caught+his+breath+shankolin&source=bl&ots=7dsKYmKMX6&sig=elbwF9rLrSS6CBKhBldKaDMQYiA&hl=en&sa=X&ei=fC21VIzAGue3mAWHq4LgDQ&ved=0CB8Q6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=having%20caught%20his%20breath%20shankolin&f=false

  6. Great shot Chris. I hadn't seen your entry when I decided to do my 'loose leaf' shot. It's been commented on my picture that 'Great minds think alike' ( I don't think they've heard the other saying, 'Fools Seldom Differ' so don't tell them or they might start using it instead).

  8. Google is your friend but since I'm late to the party I don't need to give my answer (or maybe I do ... All the Weyrs of Pern).
Even though the page had already left the book, why o why cut it into a leaf. Promiss me you'll paste it back in again.
The image is cool though ;)
