Day 31 - Long Exposure

A quick abstract one today as my final shot.

It's a coin spinning (or rather coming to rest after spinning) if you can't guess.

re yesterdays shot - I do usually do a levels adjustment check to check my whites but was in a rush and never did it for the egg shot :)

Day 30 - Egg(s)

Ok so it was supposed to be singular, but after the orange was sooo lonely the other day, I thought the egg deserved some company.

Day 25 - Cookies

These biscuits are called Hobnobs over here.
And in the words of the great Peter Kay on the subject of biscuit dunking:

 "Hobnobs are like marines, hobnobs. They're like the bloody S.A.S. of the biscuit world, hobnobs. You dip a hobnob, it's like, 'Again! Again! Dip me again, I'm going nowhere me, son, dip me! Is that all you've got? Come on!"

Day 24 - Carton

One assumes that by 'carton' one refers to a cardboard box of some type, at least that's my understanding of that word. ;)

Day 23 - Button

Four holes are better than one, I say :)

Day 22 - Shell

It would be shellfish of me not to include a pun today. I once went to a fancy dress party carrying a girl on my back. When people asked what I had come as, I replied "a tortoise." and pointing to the girl I was carrying "...this is Michelle".

So today I have a shell - not sure what it's called though. It originally came from Africa when my wife was a wee lass and lived out there.

I went for the underwater type look with it.

Funny how the pattern on it makes it look out of focus.

Day 21 - Basket

A white linen lined basket for today. We don't have any very interesting baskety things here at Morp Castle.
I went for a look that I wouldn't normally go for - a pale-ish, wishy-washy, glowy, whitey sort of thing.

Day 20 - Vegetable

Spangly Onion. No idea why it's spangly though :P

Day 19 - Eye

Here's lookin' at you, kid.
Yes, this is my daughter's eye. She has an interesting one - she does have two, but one is more interesting than the other - with little flecks of brown on one side.
It's funny how the hole in your eye doesn't actually look like a hole until you see it close up.

Day 18 - Stack of Something

Coins, Simple as.

Day 17 - Motion Blur

Ok, so not your typical motion blur shot, and I sort of stumbled on the 'look' by accident after shooting at the wrong aperture and I liked the smooth clean look it gave.

Day 16 - Wood

Wood? Or woodn't?

Went for a funky lighting shot (all done with gels) for my primary shot and a alternative shot too today for your viewing pleasure

Day 15 - External fruit?!

Apple.

Day 14 - Old Peculiar

Just some beer

(and yes I know about the awkward shadow at the back )
(and the lack of backlighting, but that was intentional to give it a dark feel...honest)

Day 13 - Liquid

Black Gold, albeit refined and used. Remember that engine? Well, this is the engine oil from that.

Day 12 - Leaf

No books were intentionally harmed in the making of this shot. It was book roadkill - the page had already separated from it's siblings :)

Bonus point if you can guess the book, the author or the series.

Day 11 - Metal Container

Metal tools in a metal container (well used today, as dad & I replaced the engine in one of my cars)

Air 8. They are waterproof, you know?

Day 8 - Candy

Ok, so technically chocolate probably isn't candy, but they are Maltesers so that makes everything acceptable.

Day 7 - Candle(s)

You know the saying about an infinite number of monkeys and typewriters?
Well the same goes for candles - get enough of them and one of them will figure out how to spontaneously combust.

Day 6 - Circles

Not so much of a funny 'un , just some rings of onion :D

Day 5 - Take it knife and easy

These are the knives in a cutlery set that we got as a wedding present 22 and a half years ago. They have a 25 year guarantee with them, but I'll be damned if I could find a receipt for them if they failed now!

(Oh and sorry to burst bubbles, but the 'sky' in yesterday's shot was actually a softbox that the berries were nearly lying on)

Day 4 - Berries

Cotoneaster. No it;s not a disease, it's a bush, a bee-magnet of a bush at that

I tried a few different shots but I rather liked the simplicity of this without much colour,  reflecting the bleakness of winter :)

Day 3 - Zoom blur

They came from outer space. Technically not true because they are Christmas lights, but it's much more fun to imaginate.
