Just a quickie today due to lack of time. This is a toy castle that I used to ...erm...I mean the kids, used to play with. I tried different colour gels on my flashes to try to emulate a sky but eventually settled for the B&W look
I love the minimalist silhouette effect of this one. Very stark and imposing and it's hard to judge the size of it. Real life? Stage prop? Or toy? Excellent work!
It's very effective - what you've done with the lighting. And I'm sure it's a very friendly castle under normal circumstances, it just doesn't look that way right now!
I think you were smart to add the gradient at the top; it creates mood to what could just be a standard black and white silhouette. Your crossed out "I used to" really made me smile.
THis is a great silhouette shot - I love the graduated background and the crisp lines of the castle that you never used to play with!
ReplyDeleteI think the B&W suits the subject very well.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if the top vignetting was added afterward, but I think it adds to it.

ReplyDeleteLooks like a skull castle, I definitely see a face. Very dramatic and sinister!
ReplyDeleteThat is really where you keep your toilet bowl cleaner isn't it?
