Day 26

Rule of Thirds

Took me quite a bit of manouvering to get this one to where I thought it was right. Of course you may disagree and I actively encourage you to voice your negative opinions ...on your own blog! :D
Only kidding! Fire away

  1. Oh, I like this so much. It has such great depth and dimension. I'm not an expert by any means, but sure looks like a good ROT to me!

  2. Well, I am not exactly sure of the setup of any particular end games, but I do like the coposition of this. It's dead on RoT as far as I am concerned, in so many ways! Excellent lighting to get those black pieces to stand out against the black background too. Well done!

  3. What a fabulous shot. I like the low down perspective and the black on black is really supurb as well as the rule of thirds of course.

  4. Many people through the years have taken shots of chess pieces, but not many as successful. The rule of thirds here is spot on. If I had any tiny nitpick, I would suggest to soften down the bright spots on the piece to the right, not take off the highlights but maybe put a blur on them and masking out just so they are a little less bright and don't pull the eye out of the frame. Well done and nice lighting too.

  5. The queen is too big for the squares on the board. It almost makes it look like the queen was pasted in and not sized properly. Beautiful lighting.

  6. Chess is not my game so I'm not distracted by how you put the pieces on the board. Math & rules is another hing I don't know much about. But I do know what I enjoy looking at, this photo is One of them.
