Day 2

So...things that grow - the ironing pile!
When you have 4 kids the ironing pile is never depleted.
I intended to add fill light to lighten the front face more, but the battery died in my ebay trigger and I didn't have a spare (Strobist info - snooted flash above, 2 white reflectors to try to fill front 1/500s @ f22)

  1. Oh, my. Laundry sure does pile up quickly, doesn't it? Cool idea for a shot!

  2. I wish my pile of laundry was that small, nice lighting. I don't think that shadow is a bad thing, it does attach the basket to the ground.

  3. I'm impressed you fold your 'to-be-ironed' clothes so neatly. It'd never happen here. Nice shot, well lit and conveniently colorful clothes and basket make it a nice composition.

  6. Seriously, if my laundry looked like that, it would be the ironed-and-ready-to-put-away pile. Nothing gets ironed in my house, except my husband's shirts, and he does them himself. Everything else gets folded and put into the cupboard. A lovely shot and a great take on the theme. Well done.

  7. You mean people actually buy clothes that have to be ironed?

  9. Ironing is something I really don't enjoy. I shudder when I look at this pile but, as for the photo, it's really perfect for your theme.

  13. Amen to Kim's comment :D I once told my hubby to iron his shirts himself if he wanted to do it properly. The only things I ironed myself were the costumes I wore during my folkshowdanceyears.

Thanks for sharing the lighting details, reminds me to not only visit strobist from time to time but actually practice the techniques.

  14. It looks like it's standing in the spotlight, shouting, 'IRON ME!'
